Three scenarios to bring to a POS demo.

Start with the sale you perform most often. Then show an exception: a modifier-heavy order, a split payment, a return, or a special pickup. Finally, ask to see the report or handoff that closes the process.

Record who completes each task, how many handoffs it requires, and which parts depend on an add-on. A familiar scenario is more useful than a polished demonstration of a feature you rarely use.

Clean data makes a clearer starting point.

Before a migration, identify the source of truth for product names, variations, SKUs, prices, and quantities. Keep an untouched export, document your changes, and test a small representative sample.

Check a few difficult items as well as simple ones. Confirm totals and ask the staff who use the catalog to validate the result. Resolve duplicate or missing identifiers before importing the full file.

Make the first week part of the plan.

Assign a point person for questions, keep escalation contacts accessible, and practice daily open and close routines before launch. Include refunds and common exceptions in training.

Review the first day’s issues with your implementation contact, then agree on follow-up priorities. Clear ownership helps a team distinguish a training question from a configuration or hardware issue.
